The Athletic

The NFL Draft is split into two sections: the event itself, which takes place over three days in April, and the “process,” which covers the other 362 or 363 spots on the calendar. This venture, The Athletic’s Consensus Big Board, falls under the latter umbrella. The consensus board combines rankings from a wide range of draft experts to identify how the top prospects are viewed against the rest of the 2023 draft class. In theory, by the time we reach draft weekend, we’ll have a good handle on how the picks could (or, at least, should) fall. For now, Austin Mock has pulled enough details to form a top-50 ranking. That number will expand as we inch closer to the actual draft. The updated draft rankings from our own guru, Dane Brugler, are one of the sources for the Consensus Big Board. You can check out his latest top 50 prospects here.
