The hare got the best of the tortoise in Super Bowl LVI. Ironically, it was in come-from-behind fashion. The Los Angeles Rams, starring as the rascally rabbit, defeated the slow-and-deliberate Cincinnati Bengals in a fascinating case study between completely opposite approaches to team-building. The champion Rams haven’t made a first round pick since trading up for quarterback Jared Goff in 2016. They turned “we’re all-in” into a mantra by executing blockbuster trades for Jalen Ramsey, Matthew Stafford, Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr. since 2019, and won’t have a selection in April’s draft until a likely compensatory pick at the end of the third round.
