It is April, and that means it’s NFL draft month. The New Orleans Saints own nine selections in this year’s draft, but seven of them will come in the fifth round and later. For this mock draft, we'll focus on their first two selections, and what weak spots they might want to shore up. And right now, there’s one glaring weakness: The Saints are in the unenviable position of having question marks at both tackle positions. The future is murky for right tackle Ryan Ramczyk after coach Dennis Allen admitted at the league’s annual meeting that his injured knee was not progressing as well as the team hoped, prompting a new round of questions about whether he might be forced to medically retire. On the left side, the Saints can’t go into the year with the hope that the light turns on for 2022 first-rounder Trevor Penning, who has been both injured and ineffective in two seasons.
