I know, my fellow Cleveland Browns fans, I know. This is a sad week. Like many of you fine folks, I still can’t believe it’s over. Even with all of the stress, panic, and worry each week, from on the field to Covid related to just regular injuries, the 2020 Cleveland Browns season was just so damn fun, and my soul is still having trouble accepting that it has come to a conclusion. The finality of losing in the playoffs just feels so … final. (I make my living with words) Add to it the fact that they came up just a play or two here and there short, and it’s so much tougher to accept than some kind of 52-17 blowout type game would have been. For at least a couple of months, the air around this team and the fan base had been a constant “Head down, stay on target, block out the noise, just keep finding a way,” and right to the very end it still felt like that would continue.
