With The First Pick

Washington Football Team is in a soft spot when it comes to the 19th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. They have a few holes to fill, and all of them can be argued as a top priority. At offensive tackle, Cornelius Lucas played solid football last season. In fact, he has been an above-average pass protector for multiple seasons and has showcased positional versatility throughout his career. However, his impact in the run game leaves a lot to desire and could be upgraded. In a deep class, the left tackle position deserves a serious look. Even with Adam Humphries and Curtis Samuel, Ryan Fitzpatrick will need a plethora of skill players to succeed. Adding a receiver, tight end, or backup running mate for Antonio Gibson all seem like solid moves. Maybe Samuel buys them time to grab a receiver, and they could wait until day two. Pat Freiermuth and Tommy Tremble are two players to watch on day two.
