With The First Pick

The Philadelphia Eagles have made a trade with the Miami Dolphins in the 2021 NFL Draft. Following the blockbuster trade that vaulted the San Francisco 49ers up to the third overall pick, and dropped the Miami Dolphins to pick 12, the Eagles decided to jump in the mix. Howie Roseman hopped on the phone and called Chris Grier and the Dolphins up and made a trade. The Eagles traded pick six and 156, for pick 12, 123, and a first rounder in next year’s draft. After speculation of whether or not the Eagles will be selecting a quarterback, it seems like that is a long shot now. Dropping outside of the top ten signals that the Eagles are taking themselves out of the quarterback conversation for this year’s cycle. Acquiring a first round pick for next year’s draft, however, signals that the Eagles are preparing to trade up next year if the need presents itself.
