The Lions’ decision to part with Matthew Stafford will define Dan Campbell’s first offseason in charge. That doesn’t mean the 2021 NFL Draft isn’t vital to the new coach’s success. Campbell and the new regime in Detroit need to find value with every pick they make. Surrounding new starting quarterback Jared Goff with the weapons required to succeed should be a high priority. It would be a major surprise if the Lions don’t go for an offensive skill player with the No. 7 overall pick. It’s possible Detroit can get the No. 1 wide receiver on their board with their Round 1 selection.
