Bear Goggles On

● By Ryan Heckman
What a week it has been for the NFL. Over the first full week of free agency, we’ve seen big move after big move, and here the Chicago Bears are, playing it cool. First-year general manager Ryan Poles should be applauded for being able to stick to his plan thus far. Quite frankly, it could be easy to come in as the new guy in charge and want to make some splashy signings. The only real splash Poles has made was actually trading away a big name, sending Khalil Mack to the Los Angeles Chargers for a pair of draft picks. Still, Poles hasn’t remained completely quiet. He’s made a handful of calculated signings thus far, with an eye on the future and, most importantly, the 2022 NFL Draft.
