In a perfect world, the Broncos would love to use their first-round pick in April’s draft to acquire their quarterback of the present and future. Unfortunately, Denver looks as if they’ll need to use the trade market or free agency to fill that massive void. The upshot of that realization is that the Broncos can focus on other needs during all seven rounds of the draft. Outside of the quarterback position, the roster is in reasonably good shape. That will permit Denver’s front office to select the best player available with most of their selections. That should lead the Broncos down the path towards strengthening their defense in Round 1. Adding a high-impact linebacker could pay big dividends for Denver’s defense.
