Before Drew Brees retired from football and joined the NBC broadcast team, there were rumors of him retiring almost every year during the final five years of his career. Of course, Brees retired last season, and now this season is the Saints’ first year since 2006 in which the Saints had to start a QB not named Drew Brees. This season the Saints have started three different QBs, and I think it’s fair to say but, none of them have been quite that impressive. The first QB to earn the starting job for the Saints was Jameis Winston. While Winston started the season pretty good with a big won over the Green Bay Packers, he quickly struggled after that as threw two interceptions against the Panthers and struggled against the Patriots as well. Winston started playing somewhat better as the season went on, but sadly for him, he tore his ACL and hurt his MCL in a game against the Buccaneers.
