The Viking Age

● By Grant Schwieger
With the calendar flipping to April, the time has come for NFL teams to go full-blown draft mode if they have not already (apologies to the Houston Texans, who have been in draft mode since September). This will mark the first draft with Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Kevin O’Connell at the helm for the Minnesota Vikings. With Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer in charge, Vikings fans had become accustomed to the team trading back, drafting corners early, and targeting athletic, unproven pass-rushers in the middle rounds, just to name a few tendencies. It might have been a running joke to predict these things in each draft and be correct, but it did make it easier to guess what Minnesota might do each year. Now, fans across the league are just going to be making dart throws when it comes to what the Vikings will prioritize in the draft.
