The 49ers miss defensive tackles DeForest Buckner and D.J. Jones. Buckner was a first-round pick in 2016, and Jones was a sixth-rounder the following season. In this first-of-the-season mock draft, we have the 49ers splitting the difference and finding a potential starting defensive tackle at the end of the third round, which will be their top selection if the team stands pat. The team is expecting to have 10 picks altogether, with defensive line, offensive tackle and safety atop the positions they need to address. The following is where they are projected to pick, although the exact selections from the compensatory section of the third round on down have not been finalized.
