Barring a trade, the Washington Commanders won’t be on the clock in the 2023 NFL Draft until around the middle of Thursday night’s first round. Time for our final Commanders-only mock draft has run out. For the last time, here’s a projection of how Washington might attack the seven-round affair, which begins with the 16th selection. Rarely is anything normal in these parts. In this instance, the twists might come from outside the house. With the No. 2 pick hardly settled, the first round should have plenty of curveballs. Trading down would offer the Commanders a twist. From a big-board perspective, that’s a maneuver they should and likely would strongly consider, depending on who is available at No. 16 and whether other teams see value in moving up. It’s a scenario we’ve explored several times in this space. What’s one more?
