The league will descend on Indianapolis for the NFL combine next week. Maybe the Jets will know who their starting quarterback is by then. Maybe not. Either way, a lot will be learned about what the Jets plan to do this offseason, and which prospects they’ll have their eye on as the NFL Draft process kicks into high gear. It’s not hard to figure out what their biggest needs are — quarterback, offensive line, safety top the list — but a lot of that will be sorted out in free agency starting in March. Still, ahead of the combine, this felt like a good time to take a stab at projecting who the Jets might draft in April. This first edition did not include any trades, and I used Pro Football Focus’ mock draft simulator to get an idea of who might be available at each spot. Draft picks in Rounds 4-6 are based on projections by Tankathon.
