The Viking Age

● By Chris Schad
After saying goodbye to some popular players and adding some more through free agency, the Minnesota Vikings look a lot different than they did a couple of weeks ago. Although the first wave of free agency fixed some of their issues, there are still plenty of holes that need to be filled during the 2023 NFL Draft. Like any team, the Vikings’ decisions in free agency altered which direction the team could go in during the draft. Reports from the NFL Scouting Combine suggested that Kevin O’Connell and his staff have done their due diligence on this year’s quarterback class, but there are also positions that need to be addressed, such as cornerback, defensive line, and wide receiver. There’s also Minnesota’s limited amount of draft capital, which could prompt a trade back to accumulate more picks or a further mortgaging of the future to get the player they want.
