The 2024 NFL Draft will be quarterback- and offensive playmaker-heavy at the top of the first round. There are nearly a dozen players gleamed as unanimous Day 1 picks, but the rest of the first round slots are anybody's guess eight months out from the draft. One team under the microscope is the Arizona Cardinals, who signed quarterback Kyler Murray to an extension through the 2028 season. Murray is set to make $46.1 million this fall, so there's going to be a waiting period for USC's Caleb Williams should the franchise call his number at No. 1. The draft order used for this mock is a projection on how final records will shake out during the NFL's 2023 season and what we know about potential trades and franchises who have the capital to make them. Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State appear to be the three programs who will be battling for the most first-round picks. In other words, Day 1 of 2024 NFL Draft will look much like recent cycles for the three programs recruiting at a heightened level, compared to others.
