The Las Vegas Raiders and all 31 other teams in the NFL are spending this week at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis and will be interviewing and evaluating prospects for the upcoming draft. As part of the combine, head coaches and GMs are made available for press conferences with the media and this week Josh McDaniels made some interesting comments about the QB position in Las Vegas. McDaniels stated that he wants someone that will be in Las Vegas for “a long time” and despite there being “urgency at that [QB] position”, the Raiders won’t reach for a player just to solve the problem at the position. This suggests that the Raiders won’t draft a QB just to draft one and will instead focus on finding the right guy for the position. The Raiders also appear to be focused on a guy with an extensive skill set and one that can make plays with his feet. In our opinion, they likely won’t grab a guy with the 7th pick because they would have to give up additional assets to do so and will instead get one in the second or third round that they can develop.
