The Raiders are 5-8 headed into a matchup vs the New England Patriots. They aren’t totally eliminated from the playoffs, but currently sitting at a six percent chance, the odds aren’t in their favor. Not to mention a loss this week, compounded with either a Jets or Dolphins victory, will officially eliminate them from playoff contention. For most Raiders fans, it’s time to start focusing your attention on the off-season. The Raiders will have plenty of cap space to work with, as they are currently projected between 34 and 42 million, which for reference, are top 10 numbers in the NFL. They’re also slated to hold between two to three compensatory picks for key free agent losses on top of their nine guaranteed picks.  The Raiders have some key positions to address, but they first need to focus on just taking the best value at the top of the board. They can’t afford to go reaching for talent when the focus should be simply adding talent and depth to a depleted roster.
