Niner Noise

● By Jeremy Wohlfart
The San Francisco 49ers are no strangers to a deadline move, and they bolstered the defense for practically nothing by sending a third-round pick to the Washington Commanders for a former No. 2 pick in EDGE Chase Young. Young has slightly disappointed, given the hype he had entering the league, but he looks like he's hitting his stride with five sacks before the trade. The best bit about the trade is the Niners lose nothing if Young leaves for free agency after this season. They would receive a 2024 third-round pick as compensation, and essentially rent Young for nothing.
