The 2023 Chicago Bears regular season didn’t go exactly as planned but the arrow is pointing up heading into the off-season. While we’re still not through the playoffs, it’s never too early for a mock draft, right? Right! I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’ve looked at the free agent class and looked at the strengths of the draft. This is all being done without knowing what will happen in free agency, so bear with me. Pun intended. The heated battle between Bears fans over what to do with the top pick in the draft has been an experience I could have gone without. Every fan wants what is best for the team but everyone has their own vision of what that looks like. For me, I love Justin Fields and cannot state that enough. I was more excited when they drafted him than I was when they traded for Khalil Mack. With that being said, I find it hard to fathom a situation where general manager Ryan Poles passes on a quarterback with the top quarterback for the second straight year. I’ll continue to believe that Chicago failed Fields far more than Fields failed Chicago.
