With the 2023 season coming to a close, the Chicago Bears enter what sets up to be a critical offseason in which general manager Ryan Poles will have to make a variety of tough decisions that could have long-term consequences for the franchise. Perhaps the biggest decision comes in determining which path to take at quarterback. While Justin Fields showed improvement down the stretch and is an inspiring leader inside the Bears locker room, the season finale in Green Bay left something to be desired in a game where he truly could have made a statement. When taking into account Fields' full body of work and the fact that the Bears sit with the number one overall pick for a second year in a row, the time might be now for Poles to pivot and get his guy at the quarterback position.
