Bear Goggles On

● By Rob Schwarz Jr.
The 2023 season is officially over. The Chiefs are the Super Bowl LVIII champions in what was a close game that went to overtime against the 49ers. Now, the Chicago Bears are officially on the clock for the 2024 NFL Draft. The Bears own two picks in the top 10, including the first-overall pick (via Panthers). Everyone and their brother are talking about what Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears might do with the pick. It appears the writing is on the wall for Justin Fields in Chicago despite what Adam Schefter recently implied. This is going to be an either-or situation. The Chicago Bears will have either Justin Fields or a top QB prospect under center in 2024. The chances of the Bears keeping Fields and drafting a top quarterback in the draft make zero sense to me. I think it's more likely that the team take someone besides Caleb Williams with their first pick than it is they keep both quarterbacks. As someone who is a believer in Justin Fields and does their best to support him, I am still disappointed by the growth I saw from Fields in 2023. There was development, but we needed to see more knowing who the prospects were in the 2024 draft class. Ryan Poles is likely going quarterback and that's exactly what is being projected in this full mock draft. Now, it's guessing what the return is for Justin Fields. Plenty of rumors in that regard right now too.
