The Kansas City Chiefs have already accomplished their two biggest tasks this offseason. General manager Brett Veach and coach Andy Reid re-signed pass rusher Chris Jones ahead of free agency, and their first major acquisition on the market was to sign speedy receiver Marquise Brown to a shrewd one-year deal. They also created needed salary-cap space by trading cornerback L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans. Following those moves, it’s time for our second mock draft. As always, I made my selections using Pro Football Focus’ mock draft simulator, which factors in each team’s needs while accounting for the randomness that often occurs in a draft. For this mock draft, I included the ability to make trades, which are easier to project after the first wave of free agency. The adjustments I made were to prioritize “care for positional value” over “draft for needs” and decrease the “randomness” for the other 31 teams.
