The Viking Age

● By Cole Middleton
The Minnesota Vikings currently sit with a 4-4 record heading into Week 9, but it comes at a cost, and that cost is the remainder of Kirk Cousins' season, and possibly his career in Minnesota. Cousins will miss the remainder of the 2023 campaign and will enter the 2024 offseason as a free agent who may not even be ready by Week 1 of next season. Throughout the first four weeks of the season, a number of quarterback prospects were heavily mocked to the Vikings in the 2024 NFL Draft. Those links died down during the past couple of weeks, as Cousins had been playing some of the best football of his career before his Achilles injury. Many even believed his play was going to lead to him receiving a new contract.
