In this seven-round mock draft for the Indianapolis Colts, the caveat was that I could only select players who meet the size and athletic threshold tendencies that have been established under GM Chris Ballard since 2018. Every GM has specific requirements from size, length, and athletic profiles that they prefer their draft prospects hit. In their eyes, these qualities give the prospect the best chance to make an impact and to stick around for the long haul. Since Ballard took over as the GM in 2018, there are certain trends that have developed within each position group. In the Indy Draft Guide, Zach Hicks of SI’s Fan Nation does an excellent job of laying out what these thresholds are and identifying which prospects fit those molds at each position group. I highly recommend you order the guide and give it a read.
