In recent years, we've see Joe Burrow and Zach Wilson, and to a lesser extent, even Daniel Jones, come out of nowhere, put together solid final college seasons, and parlay that into a top 10 draft choice the following spring. The 2021 season has no such feel-good story; instead, the two high-profile quarterbacks coming into the season -- North Carolina's Sam Howell and Oklahoma's Spencer Rattler -- are struggling, and the latter was benched on Saturday and he may not get his job back. And while Liberty's Malik Willis and Cincinnati's Desmond Ridder have been much more consistent, there are still questions about if they'll find their way into the first round.
