The Green Bay Packers made a fascinating start to free agency. Talk about a rollercoaster ride. In less than a day, the Packers signed Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney but lost David Bakhtiari and Aaron Jones, with Jones joining the Minnesota Vikings. Green Bay strengthened areas of need with two of the best players at their respective positions. Jacobs was the NFL rushing champion only a year ago, while McKinney is the post-safety Jeff Hafley needs for his defensive scheme. However, the work is far from done, even at running back and safety. The Packers still need upgrades at cornerback, linebacker, and along the offensive line. Green Bay has the option to sign more free agents and will enter the 2024 NFL Draft with 11 selections.
